Coating, that is. I’m rebuilding my brakes and replaced the front calipers. The front ones are powder coated red so I don’t think it’ll look good with red on this bright yellow.
I though about yellow but the car is already pretty damn yellow. Still might do it though.
In any case, I’m considering buying one of those DIY powder coating kits. Anyone used one or done it?
Sorry for the overexposed cellphone pic. It’s bright out here in Dallas.

Can't help you with the powder coating but I have a question. How do you like driving the gto? I'm thinking I might get one once I get rid of my z at the end of the year hopefully.

I’ve heard it’s easy, requires nothing but a tiny air compressor, and it's recommended that you do not use your primary stove in your house.

there is brake specific paint, get that.

I think yellow would look sweet, unless you do a metallic black/grey

Blue, get brake paint from your local store and paint them blue.

I think that the red looks awesome in contrast with the yellow. I had to look for a little while to find a picture that you could even tell they’re red and a show the whole car! I like the red so much, that I even have the stuff to paint the CTS-V1 brakes that I’m never going to get around putting on.

I love it. Very nice interior, quiet even with Flowmasters welded in. Pretty comfortable. But she’s a big heavy bitch. This car is a grand touring vehicle, not a sports car from stock. LS1/2 depending on which year you get, are great motors. The body work is pretty expensive though. You have to buy used parts and recondition them. New parts, if you can find them are like $1300 for a bumper cover. $2300 for a fender. Etc. Ask me how I know.

Sounds like a challenge to me. Come at me, powder, I’ll cook you in my main stove.

Oooh, that’s not a bad idea.

I was thinking black but then why bother powder coating, I’ll just use a high-heat paint and spray them black. I dunno. Could be a nice touch to do a color that isn’t normal.

I'm thinking it has yo do with a strong, bad smell that lingers.

Yeah, blue would go good with yellow.

Ah. Yeah probably not good.

Go ahead, yellow. You’re already all in on it.
Its got yellow seats and yellow instrument faces for Pete’s sake.
Plus, I’m pretty sure yellow is the new Oppositelock color.
And you need to find one of these to stick on the dash:

Seats are actually black leather (thank God) but I will front the Hulkster gladly.

I would vote bronze, black, or silver... But then again, I’ve only ever liked yellow on a C5 Z06. lol

I’m thinking silver or black. If I do black, I may do “GTO” in yellow across the caliper. Or maybe I’ll just spray the with some black rustoleum and move on...

Black with yellow lettering could be cool!
